Refugee boss gets her job back

Nurten Albayrak, head of asylum seeker centre organisation COA who was suspended last September, has won the right to be reinstated, according to press reports on Tuesday afternoon.

Albayrak was suspended following complaints about her managerial manner. Staff complained she was authoritarian, earned too much money, did not listen to people in the field and spent too much on unused asylum places and advisors.
An enquiry into the running of the COA is currently being held. Albayrak was placed on suspension for the duration of the enquiry.
Appeal
She lost her first case for unfair suspension in October but appealed.
On Tuesday the court in The Hague found in her favour and said she should be reinstated on March 1.
The court said Albayrak should have had the opportunity to give her side of the story and that it should have been made clear the suspension was temporary.
If the enquiry finds into her behaviour is positive, the COA will have to rehabilitate her reputation, the court said.
