Premium changes boost pay packets

Most employees will have more in their pay packets this year, despite the economic crisis, the AD reports on Tuesday, quoting salary processor ADP.

People on average incomes – €2,500 gross per month – will be €13.42 a month better off, the paper says. This is because the income-dependent healthcare fee has been reduced and the save-as-you-earn scheme has been abolished.
However, the extra cash says nothing about spending power because ‘all sorts of things have become more expensive,’ ADP warned.
