Pension funds will not make riskier investments: ABP chief

Pension funds will not embark upon more risky investment strategies in order to generate higher returns on their investments, Henk Brouwer, the new chairman of civil service investment fund ABP, says in Monday’s Financieele Dagblad.

‘If you think pension funds are going to go for more risky investments and consider themselves rich then you underestimate the serious and prudent character of a pension fund,’ Brouwer said. ‘Nor do I expect any change in the risk profile.’
ABP is one of the biggest pension funds in the world.
