German makes top the Dutch car thief’s list of favourites

In total, 11,658 cars were stolen in the Netherlands last year, almost unchanged from 2010, according to anti-car crime foundation AVc.

But only half the stolen cars were recovered, compared with 65% in 2010, the AVc said.
Thieves’ favourite brands are Volkswagen, BMW, Audi and Mercedes which are three times more likely to be stolen than other makes.
