Gale warning issued for coastal areas
The KNMI weather bureau issued a code orange warning for strong winds of up to 120 kph in northern coastal areas on Tuesday afternoon.
Towards the end of the afternoon, winds of between 100 kph and 120 kph will batter northern parts of the country, the KNMI said. In other coastal areas, the winds will reach 110 kph.
Inland, the KNMI expects the winds to reach 90 kph as the day progresses.
