Drink-drive police chief fined €950, banned for three months

Wednesday 18 January 2012

A senior Rotterdam police officer caught drunk-driving during the New Year festivities has been fined €950 and lost his licence for three months.

The public prosecution department had called for a €1,500 fine and an eight-month driving ban, four months suspended.

He is very lucky to not live here in CA... very lucky!

I'm curious if his 950 euro fine is in line with what any other person (civilian) would get for the same offense.Perhaps he's being singled out and fined more because he's a policeman? I guess they didn't believe his story about walking home and then needing to dash home for the car because his wife fell ill. I don't blame them... it was a fish-tale.
