Watchdog Opta puts telecom group KPN under extra supervision
The telecoms sector watchdog has placed KPN under extra supervision, meaning it considers the former state monopoly at a ‘high risk’ of breaking the law.
In a statement, Opta said it could not state what KPN had done to possibly break the law because of ‘ongoing procedures’.
The watchdog points out that it also placed KPN under extra supervision in 2007, when it was fined €17m for giving large discounts to business companies.
