Sex abuse crèches fined for lack of training

The day care centres where paedophile Robert Mikelsons worked has been fined €30,000 because those in charge of child care have still not attended courses on stimulating child development.

‘t Hofnarretje group was criticised in October for not having the proper protocol in place to deal with child abuse, the lack of someone staff could talk to in confidence and too few carers for the size of the groups.
These points have now been dealt with, but the lack of training for child development is still an issue, Nos television reports.
Mikelsons is accused of assaulting dozens of children in his care while working at two of the group’s crèches.
