Hospitality sector bankruptcies soar

Over 500 restaurants, cafes and hotels have gone bankrupt so far this year, the Netherlands Dagblad reports on Friday.

This year’s total is a record for the hospitality sector, which saw 443 bankruptcies in 2010 as a whole, the paper said, as quoted by website Nu.nl.
According to real estate agents who specialise in bars, restaurants and hotels, some 2,500 businesses are currently up for sale – between 5% and 10% more than a year ago.
