Health insurances firms increasingly ‘select’ their clients

Some 30% of health insurance companies ask prospective clients to fill in a form about their medical history, even though by law they are required to accept everyone who applies, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

Last year, just 20% of the 47 health insurance firms looked at by website verzekeringssite.nl asked prospective clients about their health, the paper says.
Almost half of insurers also want to know about client’s dental health – usually in the form of a statement from their dentist saying their teeth are in good order.
