Exports fall for the first time in almost two years

Exports from the Netherlands fell almost 2% in October, compared with the year-earlier period, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.

It is the first time in almost two years that exports have gone down. In September exports were unchanged on a year ago.
Raw materials and mineral oils were the only export sector to show an increase – due to the rise in the price of oil, the CBS said.
Imports were down 3% in October.
