Queen Beatrix heads to Oman in January
Queen Beatrix, crown prince Willem-Alexander and princess Maxima will make a formal state visit to Oman in January, the state information service said on Wednesday.
The visit should have taken place last March but was postponed because of the pro-democracy demonstrations. The queen did make a private visit to sultan Qaboos, despite protests in parliament.
The royal family will first travel to the United Arab Emirates for three days before travelling on to Oman. The royal party will be accompanied by a business delegation.
