PVV parliamentarian quits financial crisis committee

An MP for the populist PVV has resigned from the government commission investigating the financial crisis, saying he is not being allowed to ask the questions he wants.

Dion Graus claims he has stepped down because other members of the De Wit commission were angry at the way he asked a former ABN Amro executive about his €8m severance package.
‘If I am not free to ask people about an important theme such as bonuses, that’s it. I cannot work with a weak story or read out pre-cooked texts written by staff,’ the Telegraaf quotes Graus as saying.
So far, the rest of the commission, which began taking statements under oath on Monday, has not responded.
