Novib, Postcode lottery founder dies at 93

Simon Jelsma, one of the founders of the development aid group Novib and the Postcode Lottery has died in Amsterdam at the age of 93.


Jelsma, a former Catholic priest who broke with the church in 1969, helped create Novib in 1956. Novib has since merged with Oxfam.
Jelsma was also involved in the launch of the Postcode Lottery which has raised almost €3bn for good causes since 1989.
