Lottery call centre fined for computerised phone calls

A telephone-based marketing company known as All4Call has been fined €280,000 for making computerised phone calls to private individuals in an effort to sign them up for lotteries, the Telegraaf reports.

The company claims to represent the ‘Swiss consumers association’ and uses computer technology to fool people into thinking they are dealing with a real person, named Rudi Hurkmans, the paper says.
