Chemicals group DSM says 2011 is a ‘strong year’

Speciality chemicals group DSM booked strong growth in both turnover and net profit in the third quarter of 2011.

Turnover rose 14% to €2.3bn year on year. Net profit including exceptionals soared from €79m to €171m, some €20m above analysts’ expectations.
‘This performance has been achieved despite the significant impact of a very strong Swiss franc and a weak US dollar,’ said CEO Feike Sijbesma in a statement.
‘Our outlook remains unchanged: 2011 is expected to be a strong year with further progress towards achieving our 2013 targets.’
