Amsterdam just outside top 10 on living standards

Amsterdam makes 12th place on the annual list of cities with high quality of living standards in the world, published by international consultants Mercer.


The research is based on the cost of living, infrastructure, facilities and the quality and availability of housing.
Vienna tops the list with Zurich and Auckland at numbers two and three. Berlin is at number 17, Paris at 30 and London at 38.
This year, Mercer also published a list based on personal safety in a city. Amsterdam is at number 17. The top three places are taken by Luxemburg, Bern and Helsinki.
