Tele2 books more profit in the Netherlands, users down

Telecoms group Tele2 booked a 19% rise in operating profit in the Netherlands in the third quarter of this year, on sales up 7%, the Financieele Dagblad reports.

However, client numbers were down 36,000 to just over one million, the paper said. In particular, the company’s broadband activities are under pressure.
Tele2 also reconfirmed it may join the bidding when the government auctions off new mobile phone frequencies next summer.
The company’s Swedish parent reported a 3.4% increase in sales to over €1bn.
