Multi-resistant bacteria found at Haarlem hospital

Six patients at the Kennemer Gasthuis hospital in Haarlem have been infected with the multi-resistant Klebsiella bacteria, Nos television reports.

The hospital has closed part of the intensive care department as a precaution but says the source of the infection has not yet been identified.
Two patients were found to have been infected in July and four remain in hospital, Nos said.
The strain of the bacteria is different to the one which affected the Maasstad hospital in Rotterdam earlier this year, which killed at least three people.
