Last post office closes its doors

The last official post office in the Netherlands, on the Neude in Utrecht, will close its doors for the last time on Thursday, Nos television reports.

The Dutch postal service and ING – which ran the Postbank – announced the closure of the country’s 250 post offices in March 2008.
Now there are some 2,600 post service points where people can buy stamps and post and pick up parcels in shops and supermarkets nationwide.
The building in Utrecht is listed and will be turned into a hotel, restaurant and shopping centre, Nos says.
