Football ‘hooligan’ demands police apology for photo

A 19-year-old youth is demanding a police apology after his photograph was displayed on a website of suspected football hooligans.

The youth was one of a number of young men whose photographs were put on line after last month’s riot in Rotterdam, during which a small group of supporters tried to storm the Feyenoord offices.
According to the AD, the youth went to his local police station to report as a witness to the disturbances and then discovered his picture was on the website. He was arrested and had to spend three days in the cells.
‘All I did was watch what was going on,’ he told the AD. The youth’s lawyer told the paper a number of Feyenoord supporters have now been labelled as hooligans, simply for taking part in the protest march.
Two photographs of wanted ‘hooligans’ were displayed on large billboards in Rotterdam this weekend.
