Dutch women have higher than average cancer risk
Dutch women have a 25% higher risk of developing cancer than the average European woman, RTL Nieuws reports on Thursday, citing World Health Organisation figures.
The figures, which date from 2008, show Dutch women have a 26.8% chance of developing cancer before the age of 75, compared with an average of 21.4% in Europe as a whole.
Dutch cancer experts told the broadcaster the rise in smoking among women was a likely cause of the difference.
