Dutch engineer jailed for life for Bristol murder

Dutch engineer Vincent Tabak has been jailed for life for the murder of English woman Joanna Yeates in Bristol shortly before Christmas last year.

Tabak, who had admitted manslaughter but denied murder, must spend at least 20 years in prison, the judge said.
Tabak strangled the 25-year-old woman at her flat and dumped her body on a snowy roadside verge where it was found a week later on Christmas morning.
The judge, Mr Justice Field, said Tabak is guilty of an evil and wicked act and is a ‘very dangerous’ individual.
Eindhoven University graduate Tabak, 33 comes from Veghel in Brabant and moved to the UK to work for engineering consultancy Buro Happold.
