Wilders to boycott debate on parliamentary manners

PVV leader Geert Wilders will not take part in a meeting with other party leaders to discuss the bad-tempered language used during last week’s debate on the government’s 2012 spending plans.

The meeting is on the initiative of the fundamentalist Christian group SGP. Wilders said he will not attend, despite being at the centre of the criticism. ‘I wish them much pleasure with their waste-of-time debate,’ Wilders is quoted as saying.
During the two-day debate, Wilders said Labour leader Job Cohen is prime minister Mark Rutte’s lap dog and told Rutte himself to ‘get a grip man’ during a heated exchange.
