Trading halted in Saab owner Swedish Automobile

Trading in Swedish Automobile, the owner of Swedish car maker Saab, was halted in Amsterdam on Wednesday morning, pending a company statement.

Swedish Autombile, previously known as Spyker, said before trading opened it had asked for Swedish court protection pending a ‘voluntary reorganisation’.
Saab, bought by the luxury car maker Spyker in early 2010, has struggled financially for
several months. Owner Victor Muller has tried to get funding from an assortment of Chinese and other investors.
