TNT Express to cut nearly 20% of head office jobs

Express delivery group TNT Express is cutting 181 out of 800 jobs at its headquarters operations, the company said on Monday.

Most of the jobs will go in Hoofddorp but other locations in England, Germany and France may also be affected.
The company announced the restructuring in early August, when it said operating profit had fallen 8% in the second quarter, due to higher fuel and wage costs and changes in transcontinental trade volumes.
The TNT group split into two at the end of May and TNT Express now has its own listing on the Amsterdam stock exchange.
