The lawyer who fought against compulsory integration courses for Turkish nationals in the Netherlands has now turned his attention to laws requiring husbands and wives to attend the courses abroad, the Telegraaf reports.

Ejder Köse says forcing people to take courses if they want to come to the Netherlands to be reunited with their families breaks EU rules and EU treaties with Turkey. Those rules say member states cannot make it more difficult for families to reunite.
Köse is currently representing a Turkish couple. The man has lived in the Netherlands since the mid 1990s but his wife has been told she must take an integration exam in Turkey before she can join him.
If the appeal is successful, it will apply to all foreign nationals applying to join their family, Köse told the paper.
