InHolland college group cuts 470 jobs

The InHolland college group is cutting its workforce by 470 jobs as student numbers fall following a string of scandals.

The job cuts amount to around 20% of the total personnel, InHolland chairman Doekle Terpstra told reporters.
The number of applications this academic year are down around 30%, the college group says. Government cutbacks are also having an effect.
InHolland hit the headlines this year after it emerged some degrees did not meet proper standards and that college directors were being paid excessive salaries and expenses.
