Ajax contracts Russian striker Dmitri Bulykin

Amsterdam football club Ajax has signed Russian striker Dmitri Bulykin on a one year contract from Anderlecht.

Ajax had first said the deal was conditional on the sale of Mounir El Hamdaoui, but reached agreement on the last day of transfers in Europe.
According to the Telegraaf, the 31-year-old has been signed for one year because the club wants to monitor the progress of young talent Geoffrey Castillion who is on loan from RKC Waalwijk.
Ajax had hoped to sell El Hamdaoui who has a troubled relationship with coach Frank de Boer. Despite some interest, the player’s high demands proved the main stumbling block to a sale, the Telegraaf says.
