Wilders’ man quits after drunken accident

Daniël van der Stoep, Euro MP for Geert Wilders’ PVV, has resigned his seat following a road accident when he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 30-year-old politician said he had disqualified himself an MP. ‘Someone who represents the Dutch people should not indulge in this behaviour,’ he told the press.
No one was hurt in the accident and material damage was limited.
Wilders said he is sorry about the resignation but he respects Van der Stoep’s decision.
It is not yet known who will replace the MP.
