One railway season ticket for all companies

A new railway reason ticket covering all four companies providing rail services in the Netherlands will be launched next January, the Telegraaf reports on Monday.

The card will allow passengers to use NS, Arriva, Connexxion and Syntus services nationwide. Some 5% of Dutch rail services are provided by competitors to the NS but until now the companies had not cooperated fully on ticketing.
The rail firms have decided to develop five different reduction packages, the Telegraaf says.
Meanwhile, demand for NS’s off-peak package has gone down sharply since the company said the evening rush-hour would no longer be covered.
