FC Twente buys Leroy Fer from Feyenoord as transfer deadline nears

On the last official day for transfers, FC Twente has agreed to buy Feyenoord midfielder Leroy Fer for a reported €5m, according to Nos television.

Twente has been after Fer all summer but had resisted the high price tag. Fer, who will be open to a free transfer next summer, had been keen to make the move.
According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord will replace him with PSV’s Otman Bakkal.
Swedish striker John Guidetti is also joining Feyenoord on a year loan from Manchester City.
Brian Ruiz
With just hours to go before the close of the transfer window, it is still not clear if Brian Ruiz will make the move from Twente to Fulham although commercial director Jan van Halst is optimistic. The Costa Rican player is expected to raise around €11m.
Meanwhile, PSV has bought striker Tim Matavaz from FC Groningen, where he will be replaced by David Texeira from Uruguay.
