Amsterdam council develops ‘dog mess’ app

Amsterdam city council has developed a special smart phone application to encourage locals to report dog mess, old bikes and other irritations directly to officials, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

The app allows users to take a photo of the offending item and mail it along with the GPS location directly to the officials in charge.
The app, called Opgeruimd (cleaned up) is currently on trial in the borough council of West. If it is a success, the scheme will be extended to the entire city.
