Almere terror suspect released without charge

A 34-year-old man arrested in Almere two weeks ago has been released without charge but still remains a suspect, the public prosecution department said.

The man, who is an Iraqi national with a temporary refugee permit, is suspected by the AIVD security service of planning to join the al-Qaeda terror network.
According to the Telegraaf, the AIVD investigation showed the man had plans to link up with the terror network in Syria and then to carry out some form of attack on either Iraqi or Palestinian territory.
