No Dutch investigation into Norway shooter’s connections

Neither Dutch police or justice ministry officials are carrying out any investigation into possible Dutch links to the Norwegian gunman Anders Behring Breivik, a spokesman for the public prosecution department has told RTL news.

In his 1,500 page manifesto, Breivik refers to a Dutchman who is one of the founder members of a secret international organisation set up to combat Islam in Europe.
However, no request has been made by Norway to look into the claims, RTL news said.
Contact
A spokesman for the AIVD intelligence service said the organisation has had contact with the Norwegian authorities but that this always happens after a terrorist attack. And neither the home affairs or justice ministry think an investigation is warranted.
Britain, Belgium and Germany are all looking into possible links between Breivik and local extreme right-wing nationalist groups.
According to Belgian newspapers, the authorities there are considering looking in more depth at website The Brussels Journal, run by Paul Belien, who is an advisor to Dutch anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders.
Breivik’s manifesto included a number of texts taken from the website.
