More PVV politicians quit double roles
PVV MP Harm Beertema has resigned as provincial councillor for Zuid-Holland province, saying it is impossible to combine the two roles.
Beertema was elected to parliament a year ago, and to the provincial body in March. Earlier this week, another PVV MP Roland van Vliet stood down as a Limburg provincial councillor for the same reason.
PVV leader Geert Wilders and MP Sietse Fritsma earlier stood down as city councillors because of the difficulty of combining the jobs.
Four PVV MPs still have double roles but at one point as many as 10 of the 26 MPs were doing two jobs.
The Volkskrant published research earlier this year showing PVV parliamentarians were among the best paid in politics because so many had double jobs.
