A 40-year-old man found guilty of possessing and distributing child pornography has been ordered to pay €10,000 to charity Defence for Children, which works for children’s rights.

The payment is considerably larger than the €3,000 fine which the public prosecution department had demanded.
The man will also serve a 240 hour community service and faces six months in jail if he offends again.
The man was identified during an Austrian investigation in 2008.
