Dutch Euro cop resigns

The Dutch commissioner who was number two at Europol has resigned after he leaked confidential information to a colleague who had applied for a job at the EU police force.

Tom Driessen, who was on loan to Europol, is being returned to duty with the Dutch national police force where he will no longer hold a leadership position or earn the extra payment that goes with such a role, reports the NRC.
Driessen used his private email to answer questions about the application procedure.
The paper says the resignation is an embarrassment to the Netherlands, which had campaigned hard to secure a top Europol job.
