The Netherlands votes in favour of Fifa chief Blatter

The Dutch football association on Friday withdrew its threat to waste its vote in the presidential election for the world football body Fifa after major reforms were promised, the Telegraaf reports.

Sepp Blatter, 75, was the only candidate and re-elected to the position for a further four years after winning 186 of the 203 votes cast.
‘We got what we wanted so we did not spoil our vote,’ KNVB chairman Michael van Praag said. ‘We are convinced by the positive developments within Fifa.’
