Shell fined €1.4m

Oil giant Shell has been fined €1.4m by a British court for violations of environmental and safety laws following a fire and explosion at one of its gas terminals. The company has admitted liability, reports news agency ANP.


On Tuesday, Shell announced it is buying another 254 petrol stations in the UK for €270m. It will bring the number of Shell stations in the UK to 1,150.
The purchase is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
