MPs back finance minister on Greece

MPs on Wednesday evening gave their backing to finance minister Jan Kees de Jager’s approach to dealing with the Greek debt crisis.

De Jager is keen to involve institutional investors such as pension funds and insurance companies in refinancing the Greek debt. He also wants Athens to make more budget cuts and sell off more state-owned assets.
De Jager has warned that failure to reach agreement at an EU level will seriously damage the Dutch economy.
