Marines lose submarine robot

The Dutch navy has lost an expensive underwater robot off the coast of Libya where sailors stationed on board a Belgian minesweeper are taking part in enforcing the weapons embargo against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

‘We have made an extensive search but without result,’ luitenant Wilbert van Gemeren told news agency ANP.
The Remus robot allows the navy to search for hidden mines along the coast. The defence ministry could not say how much it costs.
