ING to sell its car lease business

Financial services group ING is secretly negotiating to sell its car lease business, according informed sources in the Financieele Dagblad.

ING Car Lease, valued at €4bn, has 36,000 vehicles and is a top 5 player in Europe in car leasers not coupled with a particular make of car.
The sale of ING Car Lease is not part of the group’s Back to Basics strategy, says the FD. Nor is it on the list of disinvestments the European Commission called for.
Analyst Lemer Salah of SNS Securities told the Telegraaf in a reaction: ‘ING continues to fine-tune its activities, which is positive and shows a commitment to reaching its goals’.
