The first soldiers who are forming part of the Dutch police training mission in the northern Afghan province of Kunduz have arrived, news agency ANP reports.

In total, 545 soldiers and police officers are heading for Kunduz and most will arrive at their base in a German military camp over the next few weeks. However, the full training programme for local police officers will not formally begin until next year.
