Dutch jets intercept Russian planes

Dutch F-16 jets were involved in intercepting two long-distance Russian aircraft over the North Sea on Tuesday, the defence ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Bear T-95 planes were flying in Nato airspace which is monitored by the Netherlands and did not identify themselves, the ministry said.
British airforce jets took over from the Dutch as they reached UK airspace.
There were similar incidents in January and March, the defence ministry said. The airforce has two F-16s on constant alert to intercept unidentified aircraft.
