Suspended sentence for ADO keeper on drugs charges

ADO Den Haag keeper Gino Coutinho has been sentenced to 120 hours community service and a six months suspended jail term for his role in a marijuana plantation set up by his father.

Lelystad court said Coutinho was guilty of involvement in the large-scale production of marijuana but decided not to give him a jail term. The public prosecution department had called for a 12-month sentence.
Coutinho’s father was jailed for two years in March.
The keeper was arrested in August 2009 in connection with the discovery of 4,200 cannabis plants in a warehouse in his name in the Noordoostpolder.
