Companies are paying less attention to safety at work and the number of illegal immigrants they employ has gone up, says the health and safety authority in a report published on Thursday.

In 2010 inspectors found that 61% of companies were not complying with health and safety regulations, compared with 58% in 2009 and 56% in 2008.
They also found illegal immigrants working in 18% of the companies inspected, compared with 17% in 2009 and 16% in 2008.
