Central bank chief expects an outsider will suceed him

Nout Wellink, who will step down as president of the central bank in July, predicts his successor will come from outside the organisation, he said in an interview at the University of Tilburg.

‘I have no doubts that the new regulator will come from outside,’ Wellink said. His job is being split into two: one director will focus on monetary policy, the other on regulating the banks.
