Ajax celebrations pass off peacefully

The celebrations in Amsterdam marking Ajax’ win in the premier league competition passed off without major incident on Sunday night, although there were some 46 arrests and a few fights.

In total, 80,000 people packed in to the city’s Museumplein to welcome the team which won the league title for the first time since 2004.
Several people had to be taken to hospital after becoming crushed in the crowd. A temporary hospital was set up behind the stage where the team was welcomed back.
But by 21.30 hours the huge crowd had dispersed.
Enschede

In Enschede, a large number of fans turned out to see their team and celebrate their performance this season. FC Twente, the defending champion, ends second in the league and will take part in Champion’s League play-offs next season.
Twente also beat Ajax last weekend to take the KNVB Cup.
