Small shopkeepers happy with Sunday shopping status quo

Some 90% of small retailers are happy with the current Sunday trading laws in their region, according to research by retail organisation CBW-Mitex.

If more Sunday trading is allowed, some 55% will not change their opening times and only 14% are keen to do so, the research shows.
Shops in places not considered tourist areas may open a maximum 12 Sundays a year.
The research shows the importance of determining Sunday trading on a regional basis, CBW-Mitex said.
